What dose MSDS mean ?

In the actual transportation process, timeliness and price are issues that we are more worried about, but our most serious problem is actually safety! So is it safe to transport goods, will it become a safety hazard, and will it affect the transportation process?

This requires MSDS report! People who are engaged in internationalfreight forwarding business must often see MSDS.

But What does MSDS mean?

MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) is a chemical safety data sheet, in European countries, the material safety technology/data sheet MSDS is also called SDS (Safety Data Sheet).

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) uses SDS terminology, but the United States, Canada, Australia and many countries in Asia use MSDS terminology.

The main purpose of MSDS is to provide workers and emergency responders with a safe way to handle this substance.

The MSDS report contains a lot of content, such as some physical and chemical data such as melting point, boiling point, flash point, toxicity, health effects, first aid, reaction, storage, disposal, protective equipment, leakage treatment, explosive performance, etc. 16 items .

In fact, it is to let you know more about the characteristics of this product so that you can stop it in time when you encounter danger. Due to the difference of the goods, MSDS reports are sometimes required.

The format of this manual depends on the relevant regulations of the country where it is located. JCtrans Logistics Network also encountered many customers who asked how many samples they need to provide and how to test them when they consulted for MSDS reports.

In fact, the MSDS report is an ingredient safety specification. Customers are required to provide the chemical composition and proportion of the product, as well as provide physical and chemical properties.

Then, the MSDS compiling agency wrote an instruction sheet on product use, storage, transportation, and health effects. Therefore, the MSDS report does not need to send samples for testing.

About the MSDS report validity period

Generally divided into ordinary products and lithium battery products.

1. MSDS of ordinary products: The validity period is related to regulations. As long as the regulations remain unchanged, in principle, this MSDS report can always be used.

2. Lithium battery products: MSDS report of lithium battery products, the report will become invalid after December 31st each year.

Is this certificate required for export of electronic equipment?

Usually MSDS is for chemicals, and the export of electronic equipment is generally not required. But if there is a battery in the electronic device, and the battery has explosive properties, it is necessary to provide an MSDS or even a transportation identification report.
